Terry Burns MBE
Published 8 June 2010
Terry will be remembered by many people of both villages as a hard working community-minded man who put the interests of the villages first in many ways. He was a member of the group who were responsible for raising funds for the building of the Village Hall and served on its management committee for many years in various roles. He was also involved in village football and cricket teams for many years but most people will no doubt remember him for his work with CWAGMS. Together with his family he worked tirelessly to entertain people all over the country with professional musical productions of many kinds. His community work led to him being awarded the MBE in 2007, an honour which he appreciated but also dedicated to all who had helped him in his work. He will be sadly missed. His funeral will take place on Monday 14th June at 1.00pm at Christ Church, Gentleshaw.
